Hi everyone, this is Rachel with my first blog post for Scrap Again! :)

Today I am sharing a layout that I made with the October Afternoon Farmhouse line, with a “vintage” picture of my sister and I riding our bikes. I recently ~~stole~~ borrowed several boxes of photos from my mom’s house and am in the process of scanning them into my computer. It is kind of time consuming but so worth the work! I am doing them in small batches. I have found a few fun Polaroid shots that I can’t wait to scrap. :)

A lot of the photos from my childhood are small 3x5 photos and there are not negatives for most of them, so the only copy of them was in a photo box. Scanning them in makes a permanent copy on my computer and anytime I want to scrap with one, I can just print it out and I’m not worried about damaging the original or using the only copy of a photo. Then all the photos are there if anyone else in the family wants a copy.

I just have a regular HP Photosmart printer that is several years old, but the scanned images are turning out great –in some cases, better than the original photos. I just wanted to share that because it is not a fancy or expensive scanner. If you have older photos and a scanner at home, I encourage you to give it a try. I also back up the photos on my computer onto an external hard drive, so if my computer crashes, all those memories are safe! I just set my computer to auto back up every Sunday night. Super easy.

Almost everything on the page is from the October Afternoon Farmhouse Miscellany package, which has a lot of fun die cuts, chipboard pieces, and buttons in it. The pink doily shape behind the photo was cut out with my Silhouette. I used the clothespin to clip my journaling behind the card with the flowers on it, just some little details about the photo and our bikes, which we loved when we were little.

Project Life

How is everyone doing on Project Life? Keeping up? I have to admit... I was 3 weeks behind. But, I finished them up this weekend. That is one of the things that I LOVE about this project. If you keep notes, (or if, unlike me, you have a good memory!) it is easy to catch back up. My philosophy on PL is to keep it simple! For me, making it complicated makes it harder to keep up with... So.... here goes with my 5 weeks of pages. Are you ready? (It's not that interesting, I promise!) And let me add.... Please bear with me on the photographs. Photographing the page protectors is tricky. I'm working on it! hee hee.

WEEK ONE:

I used doilies again and more Farmhouse from October Afternoon. I was trying to steer away from the same product as the title page, but it was just calling to me, I guess! I don't know if I mentioned before, but I LOVE the calendars from Elle's Studio for each week. (find them HERE)

WEEK TWO:

This week, I had a TON of photos I wanted to incorporate from our hiking trip at Tomales Trail. I used a We R Memory Keepers baseball card page and added extra pics in the middle.

I know this week looks very spring-y despite it being January. But, hey... It's felt like spring. So, why not? LOL!

WEEK FIVE:

I absolutely loved the little boy sticker from the October Afternoon Sidewalks sticker sheet. But, I was completely stumped as to what to do with it. Enter Project Life. Hee hee. he made a cute opener for the week! :)

I dreamed of this layout!

Yes, I am that kinda scrapbooker! The other morning I woke up and jumped out of bed with the vision of this layout in my head! This was about 6 a.m. on a school morning so I had to be quite and hurry so I wouldn't wake the boys...they need to sleep till 7 at least or we are in for a GRUMPY morning!
Anyways I tip toed to the scrap room and put this together. I love it! Actually this picture inspired me to stalk and gobble up the entire CHAP line by American Crafts!

This adorable little boy is a little brother of a preschool classmate of my youngest!?! I see his beautiful mom and her 3 pretty little girls and 1 super sweet boy all the time. I honestly fell in love with him. As you can see he really is a happy kid! This particular picture was taken at the Halloween Parade at school, it made my day to see his smile running towards me! I got a this great picture of him and an amazing hug!
I had fun with this layout! The title was a mis-match of letter stickers and it really made the layout playful! As you may notice I am loving the look of ink'd edges. " Oh, I'm happy inker" can't you just hear the sing song voice repeating this in my head??

I gave the mom this layout this morning and she loved it! I was so nervous to give her this layout I mean we are just casual-say-Hi-in-the-hall acquaintances. I was nervous she would think it weird I have had this picture of her son for over a year now. Lucky me she didn't think any of that. She even came to tell me later how special that photo was to her and that the vest her son was wearing was actually his Dad's when he was a little guy! She said her husband would be so excited they will have a photo to capture that memory! I had chills when she told me that! You just never know when a photo is going to have a special memory to go with it! This is the reason I scrapbook...well that and so I will have proof I gave my kids a good childhood! (J/K)

Smash Book - Update (Amy)

There is definitely a trend among the scrapbook community to do interesting projects like project life, scrapbook 365, gratitude books, mini books, December dailies... and the such. I've chosen to just do Smash Book this year, and I have to say I'm really excited about it.

It took me a while to decide if I was even going to do one... because I already felt like I'm so far behind in my traditional scrapbook... who needed another project to make me further behind, RIGHT? And then, after a little nudge from Randi and her explanation about the concept of the book, and watching the video... it all made sense to me! I had figured out how I was going to use it!!

There are so many things my kids say that I wish I had written down, but never had a place to. There are smaller events like going to the movies that don't make it into the scrapbook, that need not be forgotten. There are facts of life, (like the laundry, that I wish would go away but never does), that make our home our home, or our family our family. That is what this Smash Book is going to be for me!

I have snippets of time to scrapbook during the week, 5 minutes here, 10 minutes there, but usually never enough to finish an entire layout. So the concept of Smash Book fits perfect into my daily life. It also occurred to me that since I will be able to simply smash some of the smaller events happening around me in the book, I wouldn't feel the need to have to scrapbook so many of them too. So maybe, just maybe, I can get caught up one day... I girl can dream right!?

So... here's to the start of my Smash Book project, getting life captured more simply, and getting to share it with you!

Problem Solved! I've decided to make my own journaling cards to write on and use in my Smash Book. So any journaling worries I had (i.e. misspelling, crooked writing, not fitting it all in) are now gone!

What is Pinterest? Pinterest is a virtual pinboard of pictures. Pinterest allows you to organize pictures you see of all the beautiful things you find on the web. You can browse pinboards (groups of pictures) created by other people to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and share their favorite recipes... and get inspired to scrapbook and Scrap Again! (we added that last tag line).

Think of Pinterest like this... you are looking at an online catalog of pictures and some of the pictures really (REALLY) inspire you, and you like them so much that you want to remember them.. and so you group them onto your own personal boards (you get to decide how to organize them). Now you have a group of pictures that are of the same topic (layouts to scrap-lift, recipes to try, home decorating ideas, planning a kids party, etc.) you can reference back to your boards to get inspirational ideas! Pinterest is great... we even made teacher gifts this year inspired from ideas we found on Pinterest.

Project Life 2012

Hi, there! Mandie here blogging for the gals at Scrap Again. This year, I am going to be doing a series of posts about Project Life for the Scrap Again blog. So.. Project Life... Are you in? Are you out? Are you wondering what in the heck it is?!

For those who don't know, Project Life is a concept developed by Becky Higgins a few years ago. It is memory keeping at it's most basic. There is not a right or a wrong way to go about it. Some people use it to document a photo a day. Some use it to document a month or a week at a time. I did Project Life last year and loved it so much. I didn't even have to think about whether I would be doing it again in 2012. Last year, I used Becky Higgins' page protectors and journaling cards and my stash. I will be doing the same this year. For those looking for an even simpler approach can purchase the Project Life core kits. They are fantastic. If I didn't have so much stuff already, I would use one. :) I take a weekly approach. I think this will be such a wonderful thing to have years from now when the kids are all grown.

Today, I am going to share my title page for this year's project life This is much more detailed than I normally go in my Project Life book. But, it's the title page... I wanted to make a statement. HA!

A Project Lifer (is that a word... I dunno???) I love is Lisa Truesdell (aka Gluestick Girl). I pretty much love everything she does. But she has done a great series on Project Life. You can check them out HERE.

We are ringing in the New Year in "smashing" style. We are excited to announce a new year long project for the Scrap Again Design Team... The Smash Book project.

Smash book and embellishments from K&Company is one of the hottest trends to hit the scrapbook scene. Well I say bring on the Happy Scrappy New Year!!! And as I thought about the tag line of the ad in the Sunday paper I couldn't help but think they were talking about Scrap Again! Each year Amy and I strive to make our crops and consignment sales better than the one before. In the past few years we have tried new things, added new tools and embellishments to our resource centers, streamlined our registration processes and last year we started this blog adventure all in the hopes to improve your scrapping experience.
Have no fear we have more improvement plans coming your way! I think Lowes' had it right when the said Never Stop Improving! We are so appreciative for all the design team entries from near, far, and yes abroad! It was very difficult to choose, and we really enjoyed getting to see so many entries that were creative and inspiring. We are very excited to announce our 2012 SA Design Team. They are....

Mandie Pierce - Mandie will be returning as a design team member again for 2012 and is currently from the Vacaville area. She is also a member of the American Crafts (Pebbles) design team, has been featured several times in Scrapbook Trends magazine, and will be the a guest design team member for October Afternoon and Crate Paper!!. Her creations are stunning and clever and always with a hint of her funky sense of humor! It has been amazing to work with her and we can't wait for her to continue to inspire us in 2012.

Rachel Anderson - Rachel will join us for the first time as a Design team member and is from the Auburn area. 8 1/2 x 11 goes 12x12

I am mostly a 12x12 traditional scrapbooker, lately I have been dabbling in to cards, mini albums and school projects for the kids. I look to magazines for a lot of my inspiration. Many times the magazines show beautiful layouts that I would love to scraplift, however all too often the layouts I am inspired by are 8 1/2 x 11. I get dimensionally challenged when my scraplift is not proportionally the same. The layout takes me a lot longer to create and I usually get frustrated and give up once it is assembled.

Clearly I have a problem...my solution:

I scraplifted an 8 1/2 x 11 layout exactly and then placed it on a 12 x12 cardstock! HOORAY! Problem solved!!! And I am quite pleased with the outcome!

I even journaled AND stamped!!!

Thanks for looking and I can't wait to Scrap Again...because once is NEVER enough!

We are reminded often living here in Vacaville of the service men and women protecting our great nation. Living close by Travis Air Force Base, we see and hear the planes flying above.. thankful for a safe return, or wondering where are they going?... and saying "be safe". We so often see our service men and women in uniform where ever we go... and think there truly are real life Heroes.

Today we would like to say thank you to all, near and far, who have served and continue to serve this great nation. And to their family members who love and support them, thank you too!

SADT October Kit... product from 'Amy Tangerine'

The SADT October kit could possibly be our favorite kit of the year! We couldn't wait to work with the new 'Amy Tangerine' line from American Crafts... and all the fun goodies we found to go with it. The fabric flowers are from Basic Grey, and the fun colored pre-sewn fabric strips we found at our local fabric store.

'Amy Tangerine' really did a great job designing this line... creating fun papers to work with and using a unique color pallet (probably not anything I would typically choose!). The choice of pattern patter; from flowers, to wood grain, and dots, creates texture on your pages and all together works great. It just so happened that I decided to make this a golf layout... and then I found the coordinating sticker "A slice of the good life". It was the perfect sticker to add, playing off of the word 'slice' as it relates to the game of golf.

I don't have a sewing machine YET (my birthday is coming up though!) and I love the look of fabric and stitching on scrapbook layouts, it just seems to really complete the page. We found these great fabric strips at the local fabric store. They come in a pack of about 12, and there were a few coordinating colors to choose from. (We found them by the pre-cut quilting strips.)

Embellishment and alpha stickers are also 'Amy Tangerine' by American craft. But if you already have fabric Thickers, use a marker to make stitch like marks for the same look.

The chevron pattern (zig-zag) is everywhere! Cut along the pattern for a fun edge.

Can't wait for 'Amy Tangerine' to come out with her new line, it was so fun to work with this one. (BTW... love her name too!) I'll be sure to include this layout in our Design Center albums for the crop on Nov. 19 too!

Hybrid Pages... to create an album!

Like Randi said...we both put off using the WRMK Hybrid pages... and we were definitely missing out on a good thing! I have in the past made traditional 12x12 albums as gifts and stopped making them for a few reasons; costs, time, and it required the new Mommy to crop and glue the photos into the album... and who has time for that when your changing soooo many diapers! (right!). Well... Hybrid albums are the answer!!! Because the layouts are pre-designed, it took no time at all to make 14 single page layouts (only 3 hours). And, because I used double sided patter paper, I was also completing the back side... saving time and money. I'm sure the new Mommy will also appreciate that all she needs to do is just insert the 4x6 photos ... and the album is complete.

Here is an example of a WRMK Hybrid Page. There are several different pages layouts to choose from too!

There is brand called 'Simple Stores' that has a few themed patter paper lines, that are designed to go with the WRMK Hybrid page inserts. The paper is designed to be cut to the size and shapes for each pocket in the Hybrid page (Example, 4x4, 4x6, 2x12, or 6x12). There is even coordinating stickers that make embellishing quick and easy too! The line I used for this baby book was Baby Steps. Below is a 12x12 sheet of images, that when cut will create 6 - 4x6 tags... and don't forget they are double sided!

To make this album, I started by cutting all the Simple Stories pages according to their images and inserted them into a few pockets in the Hybrid pages. Then I used the coordinating 12x12 patter paper and cut it to fit into a few of the pockets, and lastly matched cardstock to put into the remaining spaces.

For the cover page, I made a traditional 12x12 page... and I actually Scrapbooked the back side too!... (saving me from having to use another sheet of cardstock).

The hot air balloon is the back side image of the owl on the previous page! I just 'heart' double sided paper!

I thought it was going to take much longer than it did... but I was right at about 3 hours of work. With extra time and paper left over, I even made a few brag books for the Grandmas too!

I wish I could have this on display out our next crop November 19 (our last crop for 2011), but I must send it to my cousin for his First birthday coming up soon. I will definitely be making more albums for friends and family using the Hybrid system!

Hybrid Pages

I think I can speak for Amy as well as myself when I say we have fallen in love with the We R Memory Keepers hybrid pocket pages. Over the past year or so we have converted our albums to the We R Memory Keepers D-ring albums. Each album comes with 10 page protectors and one hybrid pocket page.

I am embarrassed and disappointed to tell you that I have stubbornly ignored those hybrid pages until recently. I am a 12x12 one to two-page layout kinda girl and had no intention of trying something new. Finding time to scrapbook is enough of a challenge for me let alone trying some new way to scrapbook! BOY was I a fool!!!! Not only are the hybrid pages easy and fun they are super fast too!

Sorry the pictures didn't come out as I had hoped. The pages are really fun in my album. I had taken the boys to Six Flags and we did so much that the hybrid pages allowed me to do a fun single photo layout and use up a lot of the photos of animals and the kids exploring that might otherwise not make the cut.

Studio Calico Boardwalk kit

Sometimes you have a wonderful shopping trip to your local scrapbook store, or if you are like me a you receive a scrappy mail delivery since the scrapbook stores are not local anymore! Well with the craziness of life lately I was just able to get to my Studio Calico kit that arrived last month. It was hard to have it on my scrap desk and not be able to touch it!!!! But oh,euphoria when I did bust into it. My scrappy little paws couldn't stop! It was trimmers on fire, adhesive on the loose and thickers gone wild as I created two layouts before the boys even noticed I was missing in Scrapland.

Can you name the song I was listening to?? My title was kinda inspired by it!

Hint: It it country...

Normally I don't care much for Basic Grey paper, but a few border punches and my go-to layout was complete!

Aren't these Thickers fun?!!

Yes another song inspired title for this page! This page was so much fun for me to create! I challenged myself to a lot of "firsts"

1. I cut along the shape of the honeycomb paper

2. Used a new American Crafts chalkboard embelly

3. Stamped...the circle is a stamp on kraft cardstock with a paper punched center

4. I JOURNALLED!!! YAY me! Not only that, I typed it on the computer which came out with the exact effect I wanted!

I am slightly addicted to my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher...

When I was able to get back to Scrapland...I made one more layout with this kit!

For this one, I cut down the cream cardstock and adhered it right onto the back of the 1st layout, since they were from the same vacation! I still need to journal on this one...

When I do the title will make more sense...see Kyle (the cutie in the pictures) was potty training while we were on this camping trip to Clear Lake. He was doing awesome, except for the fact that he would drop and go pee whenever he needed to go...even if it was by the dinner table or on a cop's foot! Yes one of our friend's who happens to be a police officer found his foot in the direct path of Kyle's stream! I laughed creating this page almost as much as I did when it actually happened!

This whole scrappy business we have is a fun way to connect with other creative people! I usually try to keep posts neutral and not bore you with my personal trials and tribulations of mommyhood, marriage, family drama and the continuous battle I wage against myself to be Superwoman. Well unfortunately I have been neglecting our blog. I haven't been consistently making creative posts and I apologize as I have been overwhelmed by terrible news that has befallen a true Super Woman in my life.

Typically I DO NOT create scrapbooks, or even layouts for people as gifts. I rarely have enough time to get my own pages completed. Yes my scrappy time is precious and I am selfish.

However,that all changes when two months ago my Gramma was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. News that brought my whole family to our knees. Last month the doctors scheduled her for surgery to remove the tumor and most of the pancreas. I live 500 miles away so I flew down to support her but I left my kids at home. I made her this mini book to have in the hospital so she could still see her great-grandchildren and know she was loved even if we are not always close by. It was a small gift compared to the years of love, attention, advice, support and laughter she has given to me. She had her first chemo treatment this week and my Grandpa told me she keeps that book close and enjoys looking at it all the time.

Well I thought if she enjoys it so much I should share it with you. Please forgive the terrible pictures. I took them with my phone before I packed it in the suitcase and I was a bit frantic.

The project itself was not challenging to make at all! However the emotion behind every glue dot was too much for me to even journal. But you know some things in life there are no words for. The love in the gift itself was more than enough for my Gramma. She is beyond amazing like that! I am so happy I created this for her and that it is helping her make it to our next visit.

I wanted to let you know that this ENTIRE book was created with scraps and goodies purchased at our last Consignment Sale! I was so impressed with the quality of products I bought and was ecstatic when they fit my pictures perfectly for this album. Even the black chipboard album was picked up for $1!!! Some of the products are from Studio Calico,Sassafrass, We R Memory Keepers, October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket...all of my favorite lines for a VIP in my life!!!

Consignor: Day of the sale information

We are so excited for the Consignment sale on Saturday, and we are busy planning all the details... hopefully you are busy getting ready too! Here is some information about what you can expect the day of the sale.

On the morning of the sale, proceed to the ballrooms to check in for the consignment sale. You will find your designated bin with your consignor number on it, and a copy of the terms & conditions in your bin. Even if you have already signed a copy of the T&C, we are asking that you sign it again. Drop-off is between 10:00a - 11:00p.

All contents must fit in your bin (70 qt plastic bin), with the exception of large items. If you have more items than will fit in your bin, there are 'free refills'. So, as items sell from your bin, you are welcome to come back to the sale area and keep re-filling your bin. For larger items like 12x12 albums, totes, and organizational items, there will be several tables designated to display larger items. If we find that small items have made their way to these tables, magically they will find their way back to your bin!

If you are staying for the crop, you will also need to proceed to the front of the atrium and check in for the crop; where you will receive your seating assignment. Cropper will be seated in both the atrium and the ballrooms.

As a consignor you have earned VIP shopping status. Whoot Whoot! We will make an announcement at 1:00p that VIP shopping hours have begun, and you can come shop and find all those great bargains!... including the new Bazzill Bin, labeled BB, that will contain packs of 5 sheets of Bazzill paper for only $2.50. Please note that we allow only one consignor to enter during VIP shopping hours per consignor number... So, if you have shared a bin, you will have to pull straws, maybe do paper scissors rocks, to decide who will gets to shop the VIP hour! We accept cash, check, and credit cards as payment.

With about 1.5 hours left in the sale, we will make an announcement for the consignors to come back and adjust prices. At the end of the sale, we will have the 'fire bin' sale. This is when we will ask the consignors to determine a final price for all the contents in their bin, as is. Discounting prices and participating in the fire bin sale are optional. Volunteers will be available to help discount prices and determine a fire bin sale price for consignors who will not be staying to crop.

The sale ends at 7:00p, where we will then sort all remaining items back to each consignor bin. Pick-up is between 9:00p - 10:00p, and any product that is not picked up will be donated.

Following the sale, we will be reconciling the sales receipts and determining your payment over the next two weeks. We will notify you via e-mail when the checks have been issued and when you can expect a delivery date of your check in the mail.

Consignor Tip: #5

O.K. consignor's... it time to get packing!

All items (with the exception of large items) must be packaged in clear bags. You can use any size clear bags, including sandwich size bags for smaller items. At Walmart or Target you can buy 2.5 gal sized hefty Zip Loc bags that will fit 12x12 paper in it, and they work great for packs of cardstock, pattern paper, or larger items like albums. We have even ordered clear bags (flap sealed crystal clear bags) from a company cleverly named 'Clear Bags'! Here is their link to make an online purchases Clear Bags Although their shipping is quite fast, because they are out of El Dorado Hills, CA... be sure you will receive the bags in time to package your items for the sale.

If you plan on selling a single item, and your item is in it's original packaging, for example; a pack of Thickers or stickers, you do not need to put them inside another bag. Use the original packaging as long as it is not torn.

When putting your items in the bag, it is a good idea to have contents visible from both side, so the buyer has a good feel for what it is they are purchasing. This also means that small items should be placed in front and not hidden between two sheets of 12x12 paper.

It's important that labels are taped to the inside of the package to keep them in one place. Why you ask?... this is because we are looking for the label when checking customers out, and if you have discounted your item, and the label moves, it's likely that we will not see the discounted price marked on top of the original price. For larger items, please be sure to securely tape your label to your item.

Lastly, all packages need to be sealed shut to prevent damage and theft. Yes... even if you are using flap sealed bags or bags with a Zip Loc seal, you will still need to seal the packaging! Clear packing tape works great. For larger items that may be in boxes, please be sure to seal them shut to prevent pieces from falling out or pieces getting separated.

Consignor Tip: #4

Keep those groups laid out and grab a bunch of index cards and a sharpie... it's time to label and price. You can use scrap pieces of paper, or cut 8 1/2" x 11" into smaller index card sizes... or I went to the Dollar Store and bought a 100 pcs. pack of 3x5 index cards for ... well you guessed it $1.00.

The labels must include the following information:
1. Consignor #
2. Price (in increments of 50 cents)
3. Description (optional)

Although the description is optional, the buyer appreciates knowing the contents. The description doesn't need to be long, but it should include information if the item is partially used or if there are known missing pieces to kits. If anyone is selling Cricut cartridges, we do ask that you disclose if the cartridge has been downloaded on a Gypsy.

We get a lot of questions about how to price items. The best advice we can give is... price it for what you would be willing to buy it for... not what you wish you could sell it for. For example, you saw a jar of flowers and you had that moment... the 'OMG... I HAVE TO HAVE THEM!' moment. If the cost was $4.99... and you made 3 beautiful layouts, and you only used half of them, you might reason and want to sell the remaining flowers for $2.50. But, is someone willing to pay $2.50 for them... would you? Items that are priced to sell, tend to sell. We have given the bench mark that, 10 - 20 sheets of single sided pattern paper sell for around $1.00. But, if you have very current product, and we all know that one sheet of quality, name brands, double sided paper, now goes for $0.89 or more.. you should definitely make the appropriate price adjustments and price accordingly.

We've identified two different pricing strategies. The first one we will call it the 'I have to have it' price strategy. It's much easier for shoppers to have the 'OMG... I HAVE TO HAVE IT' moment, when the product is reasonably priced. You may choose this strategy and keep your prices lower in order to sell more items all together. Keep this in mind when you are making your groups too... so if you have 50 sheets of single sided pattern paper, you may consider making 5 groups at $1.00 each or 2 groups for $2.50 each.

The second pricing strategy we will call it the 'starting price' price strategy. This is when maybe your not quite sure what price you want to mark your item, so you choose a starting price, knowing that you will have the opportunity to reduce the price if it has not sold. At around 5:30p, when there is about 1.5 hours left in the sale, we will make an announcement letting the consignors know that if they would like to reduce prices on items that have not yet sold, they may do so at that time.

Lastly we will be having the 'fire bin' sale at the very end of the sale. This is when we will ask the consignors to determine a final price for all the contents in their bin, as is.

Please note that lowering pricing on your items, and participating in the 'fire bin' sale are optional. For any consignors who are not staying for the crop, we will have volunteers to help reduce prices on items not yet sold for you at a rate of 50%, and determine a fire bin sale price by taking an additional 50% off. For example let's say you had $20.00 worth of product still left in your bin. The volunteers would reduce each item by 50% and your bin would now have $10.00 worth of product in it. Let's say $2.00 worth of product sold and your bin now contains $8.00. The volunteers would determine your 'fire bin' price to be $4.00.

You will be amazed at how quickly $1.00 + $2.00 + $3.00 will add up!

Consignor Tip: #3

Deciding how to group your product is much easier than deciding what to sell... so congratulate yourself on getting to this point in the process!!

There are a several different ways to group your product. Consider the following:

1. By Theme: Baby Girl, Holiday, Birthday, etc.

2. By Type: Cardstock, Pattern Paper, Ribbon, Embellishments, Thickers, Stickers, etc.

3. By Condition: New Product, Used Product, Scraps of paper

4. By Color: All shades of one color grouped together- this works well for cardstock and pattern paper.

4. By Kits: All remaining product and embellishments from a kit or paper line.

Find a good amount of space, like your kitchen table or counters, and begin sorting through your stash and grouping them in piles. You may decided to group them in a combination of ways... like your cardstock and pattern paper by color an your embellishments by type. You may even decide to make up your own themed kits by putting together a few pieces of cardstock, pattern paper, and adding a few embellishments that coordinate. If you have a lot of one product, consider making smaller groups. For example, if you have a lot of Halloween product, make up 2 or 3 kits. The idea is to present your product in a way that would appeal to the buyer.

Lastly... as you sort and group your product DO NOT create a 'return to scrap-stash' pile!

With a little over 1 week to the crop & sale, we have seen a increase the amount of registrations we are getting daily. For this BIG event we rent both the Atrium and Ballrooms, and will be seating croppers in both rooms too. We already have enough registrations to fill the atrium which means there are limited seats available. Several registrations referenced creative crew members who still need to register... so if you know of anyone who still needs to register, they should do it soon to secure their spot! Consignor Tip: #2

Deciding what to sell may not be as easy as you think once you start to go through your scrap-stash. This is because we are reasoning with ourselves on why we should keep the item. Let's admit, we've all heard those voices inside our heads!

So, decide on a reasonable time frame like 6 mos, 1 year, or even 2 years. Then, as you go through your scrap-stash, keep only those items you purchased within that time frame. Items purchased beyond the time frame should be added to your designated bin, box, or drawer (and keep it their!). If you haven't used it by now, chances are you not going to use it... and you most likely already bought something more current to use in it's place.

Also consider smaller quantities of one product. For example, if you bought a jar of flowers and there are 175 pieces in the jar.... ask your self are you really going to use all of them? If not, keep only what you think you will use and sell the rest. The same goes with brads, buttons, and ribbon. If you bought a spool of ribbon with 3 or 10 yards on it... keep for example 1 yard instead.

Be sure to go through your stash of 'used' product too. If you are holding onto stickers, thickers, paper, and other product with hopes that you might use them again one day, you should consider selling these items. Again, decide on a time frame. If you haven't used the remaining items in the last 6 mos or 1 year, then add them to your designated bin.

We are so excited for the upcoming scrapbook sale (Sept. 17)! And, with the sale taking place in just over a week, we thought it would be helpful if we write a series of Tips to help you get ready for the sale. So here is the first tip...

Tip #1: Designate a box, bin, or drawer, and as you start to go through your scrap-stash keep all the items you are going to sell in one spot. (And here is the hard part)... Once it has made it's way to this designated box... it should remain in the box and not come back out to join your scrap-stash again!!

Labor Day Weekend - Day 3 Inspiration (Mandie)

Keep those trimmers going... It's day 3 of our Labor Day Scrapbook Weekend and Mandie keeps us going with a double layout and a couple of cards!

We typically think a title needs to go at the top or bottom of a layout, right?... But you will find that Mandie mixes up the placement of her tittles by placing them on the left and even right side sometimes too! By adding a journaling card on the right and the title on the left, the layout is balanced. Grounding her matted photos with two strips of paper at the bottom, and only using a few simple embellishments, puts this double layout in the 30 minute our less category!

Mandie uses the same design idea, strips of pattern paper or ribbon at the bottom, for the cards too. Do you have extra tags in your scrap-stash?... if so, try making this card to use up those scraps and get the most out of your supplies.

A little bit of stiching on the sun makes this card shine!

Labor Day Weekend - Day 2 Inspiration (Taraleigh)

It's day 2!... and time to keep those trimmers going with inspiring layouts from Taraleigh!!

Grab those circle punches and create your own embellishment like Taraleigh did! Just a few circles and some buttons make for budget friendly embellishments. Journaling doesn't always have to be on a tag. Taraleigh shows us how journaling around the pictures makes for a matting effect.

And this is why we love double sided pattern paper! Taraleigh used both sides from 3 different pattern paper (Crate Paper) to create the block of pattern paper below her photos. Using coordinating paper from one paper line, really takes out the 'work' of trying to find coordinating paper from your scrap-stash. Taraleigh also shows in this layout that your photos don't always have to be centered to create a GREAT layout. Try off setting them a bit from center and see how this style can 'work' too!

Labor Day Weekend - Day 1 Inspiration (Marcie)

Ok, so it has been a busy summer for all of us here at Scrap Again and we thought you could use a little scrappy inspiration over the labor day weekend! For the next 3 days we will be posting layouts for you to scrap-lift this Labor Day Weekend... who ever said that scrapbooking needed to be a 'labor' of love!

Marcie's July Design Team Layouts

Where are your layouts? It's time to show them off....

First of all, we can't believe it's already August ... where did July go?

Many of us will create beautiful layouts that document a special moment in time for us, only to have them kept in our bags until the next crop, or in an album that seldom gets looked at. Here, Marcie created a beautiful layout using a scalloped edge 12x12 patter paper for her background that would also look great in a frame hung on a wall as home decoration. Showcase your work and have a easel or a frame where everyone can admire your latest layout... It's time to show them off!

A beautiful border at the bottom grounds the layout and is created by using flowers and buttons.

Marcie create a 4th of July card that we can all celebrate about! She used several different pattern papers in the shape of a square to create a unique background. This is a great technique that can also be used on a 12x12 layout, or substitute another shape like circles for a different look.

Mandi's July Design Team Layouts

Not sure if I love the cupcake decoration more, or how Mandi used one of the hottest trends in scrapbooking... stamp and punch combinations. Mandi created a tag using a stamp, and then punched it out using the coordinating punch. Once the tag was made, she then punched a negative space on her card so the tag could be seen from the inside of the card. Be on the look out for these stamp and punch combinations!!

To create the firework on her card, Mandi stitched sequins in the shape of a firework!
So creative!!

Many of us print several photos from an event and have a difficult time deciding which ones get "cropped out" ... (at least I do anyways!). We love the next one just as much as the first and are left wondering how do we get them all on one layout. Mandi's double layout shows us how easy it is to collage photos and still get all those precious photos on one layout. Here are a couple tips; eliminate matting your photos to save space. A simple title that overlaps is a space saver too!

Taraleigh's Summer Sweeties

There is no denying Taraleigh's life is simply adorable...with those cutie kids how could it not be? I know with two little ones her life is also hectic but I LOVE that she can appreciate and embrace the simplicity of life and scrappin' too!

This pre-stitched paper was super handy for this layout. Have picture..add embellishment and you have another AMAZING Taraleigh layout! Add this to the 30 minute power hour inspiration list. Even if you don't have the pre-stitched cardstock it can be done with a sewing machine, the sew easy for a hand-stitched look, or even with a pen..doodle it on!

Ever wonder how to incorporate vintage elements?
Here Taraleigh used the $10 quarter rolls to pay homage to the year!

What is not to love about this sweet thing? And we love the layout too! I love the color choices red & brown with the natural corrugated button shapes!

The bold red patterned paper used as a strip down the side helps to balance the layout against collage-style picture formation on the dark cardstock.

I must admit though one of my favorite elements is her journaling!

Marcie's June Layout

It is always a treat to see Marcie's fun playful style come out with our kit! This month we get a peek at her rugged side with a boy layout! This layout totally speaks to me as a mom of all boys! I love how the red burlap is such a bold statement against the more natural hues of the paper. And check out that background paper! If you want to know more on how her technique send us a comment or visit her on her blog and I am sure she would be happy to give you the 411.

I am a sucker for clocks...so LOVE this clock embelly and will for sure be scraplifting that! Another creative embellishment that is hands down my favorite is the corrugated cardboard! Our clever little Marcie ripped off one edge of the box we sent her kits in to reveal the corrugated inside and then scallop-punched it! Talk about making the most of her kits! So next time you receive a package in the mail don't be so quick to toss it...recycle it into a beautiful embellishment! How's that for going green?

Who doesn't love summer? I know even the biggest snow-bunny would warm up nicely with this bright and playful card!

Taraleigh's June Layouts

Ok, so just when I think I have Taraleigh's style pegged she goes and WOW's me again! I LOVE her bold color combo on this layout! The grid-style arrangement of the photos is clean and draws your attention to each and every detail. I am truly impressed on her use of ribbon to draw out the grid lines.
This layout reminds me of a tic-tac-toe game....and clearly Taraleigh wins with this amazing creation!

Here is a closer look at how she wove the ribbon through the page...for all you scraplifters :)

For this next layout Taraleigh used the burlap to mat her photo AND to tie the little bows! She simply unraveled the burlap and tied one thread like twine! A perfect little accessory for the bright punched circles. Do you have 30 minutes to try out this layout? I think this could easily make it in the 30 Minute Layout category (ok, aside from the journalling that would take me 2 hours) This layout is a perfect combo of bold patterned paper used in small quantities on a neutral background to showcase that special memory. Scrapbook Trends

When I saw these embellishments... I just had to have them! I haven't been in 'Mike's' in a while and was quite surprised at all the new 'Recollections' embellishments. These fabric flower... yes a bit thick, are embellishments that I would normally stay away from...especially with a price tag of $4.99. Then I saw the 40% off tag... in my basket they went. Now I just need to be sure to use them and not hoard them! These flowers also come in a variety of colors; red, green, and pink too, and there is coordinating bling to match.
... and I was sure to pick one up for Randi too!

Mandie's "Chillax'n on the Beach"

If I click my heels 3 times maybe I can join her! Ok, so this was last summer but I bet creating this layout helped her beat this June-gloom Blues we've got going on here! I am loving the excape feeling I have when I look at this layout! The color combo is totally "chillax" and the bright banner couldn't match the beach chair better!

This month we challenged our Design Team to use burlap. I love Mandie's clever use of burlap in this rosette! How did she get it to stick???....one of our new favorite products, Glubers! If you haven't seen them yet you have got to try them! Mandie said it was super easy and you can see it turned out adorable!

Sneak Peak- June Design Team Kit

The SADT June Kit is HOT!!

The June challenge for our SADT was to use burlap, which is fun way to add texture to your layouts. It comes in many colors and can be purchased at your local fabric store... but be sure to only buy a small amount, it goes a long way! Join us at our June crop where will will have an assortment of burlap free for you to try at the embellishment center.

The June kit is filled with pattern paper from the jillibean soup (pasta fagioli), WRMK (72 & Sunny), Cosmo Cricket (Kite Strings), and Bazzill cheddar cardstock. Tags from WRMK, ticket shapes are cut from the Mickey Mouse font Cricut cartridge using paper from a dictionary. Ribbon, burlap, and buttons are also included.

Amy's May Design Team Kit

The pattern paper in the May kit is from the Teresa Collins collection Celebrate. Because it was a birthday themed paper, I was convinced that I going to use it for a birthday layout. However, after several weeks and no pictures to go with it, I remembered how Taraleigh from our design team did a layout that wasn't birthday at all. And so, I soon found myself looking through photos with a new perspective. Sure enough I spotted the perfect picture to go with the backside of the cupcake paper!

I forget how easy it is to paint chipboard and love that how the color stays so true. Included in the May kit was Maya Road chipboard banner pieces. I originally wanted to put my title on them, but instead decided to use them as a 12" border.

With the leftover scraps, I made a card and a tag. I love to use tags on gifts because then I don't feel the pressure to have to write a little note inside. A simple, "wishing you a happy birthday" works just fine!

A simple card made in seconds

Gift Card Holder Card

Here is a simple card that can be made in seconds and uses scraps of paper. What we love about this card is that the paper clip which looks like a fun school themed embellishment on the outside actually holds a gift card on the inside!

Supplies:
1 - 5 1/2" x 8 1/4" white cardstock
1 - 5" x 3" school themed pattern paper
1 - 5" x 2" solid cardstock
1 - Paper clip
1 - Ribbon cut to 4" long

You can use white cardstock to create this card, or if you are like me, you have a stack of cards piling up in the closet. This card happens to be one of those blank cards from my closet that I covered up.

Here is how easy it is to make this card.
1. Fold the white cardstock in half
2. Glue the school themed piece of paper to the top of the card
3. Tear about 1/4" off the top of the colored cardstock
4. Glue the solid cardstock to the bottom of the card
5. Add the paper clip and ribbon
6. Insert gift card inside the card

By using different themed pattern paper, you could also make this card for birthdays, holidays, graduation, or even a thank you card.

Quick n' Easy!

The end of the school year is rapidly approaching! I am crammin in any scrap time I can! I am also becoming a BIG fan of single page layouts!!! I find I am more creative and can bust one out in a LOT less time! Here is a simple and fast layout of my son's last day of preschool last year.

A few strips of patterned paper, border punches, off set a couple of photos add a few embellies and you'll be done in no time! Scraplift this and send us a picture to info@scrapagain we will be happy to post it! Thanks for letting me share my creativity with you!

Randi's May Design Team Layouts...in 30 minutes!

I am truly blessed that as a mom of 3 boys we ALWAYS have some kind of birthday or celebration going on. This month's kit with all the bright colors and banners was perfect for documenting those fun memories! I had a lot of fun and could hardly choose which sides of the paper to use!

This layout could easily be a 30 Minute Layout! It works best if you have two horizontal photos and 1 vertical photo. The blue and white polka dot paper is about 3x 12 and placed vertically along the edge. The other two patterned papers are 4 1/4 inches wide and 10 1/2 inches in length. These two I adhered vertically and rounded two of the corners on each. I did ink the edges of the papers but to save time skip this step. Arrange photos, embellish and put a title on there and you are finished. Notice I didn't mention journaling ;) as this is a time saving step I often skip! I usually add the journaling to pages when I don't have time to pull out all my scrap stuff but still want to feel like I was crafty for a minute!

My next layout could also be completed in 30 minutes! For this layout I wanted to use a lot of photos...so I went to my usual collage arrangement for the pictures. This arrangement is simply placing the photos together in any order that makes them look good or by how they fit together! Next I start at the inside of the layout and work out with the paper. I cut the cupcake paper to 6x12 and placed it along the inner edges. The red I cut 2x10 or 11 and border punched it. Last I cut the blue dot paper out with a shape from the Songbird Cricut cartridge, cut it in half and layered it under the red. I adhered my photos added a few embellishments and a banner which is totally optional and again finished!

I know no journaling, again!

Marcie's Design Team Creations for May

This month Marcie really WOW'd us with her layout and card! The green and blue color combo that she chose is amazing! I love how fun her banner looks with the stars and the patterned paper is a clever touch! This layout is so full of fun elements I hope you will try to scraplift it as I know I will!

One of my favorite things about Marcie as a designer is her embellish-ability! Often I struggle with what embelly to use or where to place it. Marcie's pages always come out flawless and I am in awe of her embellishments!

She makes it look so simple! Flowers with a brad in the center ad a tag and a button and there you have it....AMAZING!

Here Marcie used her rickrack as a border strip. A great compliment to her border punched strips!

Marcie also created this card that will be sure to impress your friends on their special day! I love that the card is more than your regular square or rectangle! The way she pulled the top elements "off the page" make this clean-lined card absolutely stunning!

Mandie's May Design Team Creations!

When you are a kid birthdays are the best! When it is your 1st birthday it's all about the icing on the cake! Mandie captured some GREAT pictures of her son eating cake for the first time and did a fun layout to celebrate that memory!

This is such a fun layout! I love how she printed her pictures wallet-size so that she could use all the gooey photos without having to make it a two-page spread! I also love the black background it really makes the pictures and the banner pop on the page!

Of course we all fall in love with all that yummy birthday themed paper but what to do with it after you have made a few pages??? Mandie sure had the right idea and made cards that could be a gift on their own! I may have to try some of these! They are so bright and fun!

These could even be a great embellishment on a birthday page!

Cards can be a fun way to experiment with those border punches and use the phrase images on patterned paper! That "Celebrate" card is an image right from the paper! Rather than covering with a picture on a layout Mandie cut the image out and made a card out of it! I love all her many uses with the rickrack this month! Way to go Mandie!

Taraleigh's May Design Team Creations

This month our kit was so much fun! There were lots of doublesided colorful patterned papers and creative embellishments to work with. Taraleigh transformed her kit into two wonderful layouts that I will be sure to scraplift a few ideas from!

This month the challenge was to use rickrack. Love how Taraleigh used it to string the banner and put her title on it!

The clock image she cut out from one of the busy sides of the paper. I am always inspired by Taraleigh's ability to use what she has!

On this layout Taraleigh stapled the rickrack to her page! Simple yet beautiful!

GASP! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, how she stitched her journaling lines! A definite must try!

Design Team April Kit Layout

I can't believe it is the end of April, May is just around the corner, and soon the kids will be out for Summer break!

Sometimes simple works! This is becoming one of my "go to" layouts because it uses several pattern papers, and can be tittled and embellished in different ways to make the layout unique. I'm not one for journaling, and usually I tell my story on the back, but this time I did pencil a little bit of journaling... one day I will make it permanent!

I find it challenging to scrapbook 6 or more photos on a double layout. With a bit of cropping and tilting some photos, I was able to get 8 photos on this one! A matted photo, some tiny types, and a cluster of embellishments finish the page... and one day I will get to that journaling!

Tip: Find random embellishment that otherwise would not go with the paper, and when you cluster them together you will be surprised how well they work together!

The Royal Wedding

With regret I will not be attending the Royal Wedding in London!

I can't tell you how excited I am for the Royal Wedding of William & Kate. My alarm is set, I have my DVR set to record two channels, and my tea pot is already on the stove! Although I wont be in London for the wedding ... (seems like I didn't make the guest list, and Prince Henry didn't accept my offer to be his +1...) I still plan on scrapbooking my experience of the event. I'm certain decades from now we will still be talking about this Wedding and what we remember about it, and so... I can't pass up the opportunity to scrapbook it too!

2011 Scrappy Resolutions Update

BIG NEWS!!!! Heavy Breathing...I'm a ball of nerves!

Today, after a serious confidence booster from friends and my "scrubby" (a.k.a. husband of a scrapbooker, compliments of my new favorite utube videos by mocktv, I submitted my layouts to a magazine for publishing! EEEK! I have always wanted to but have been way too nervous and unworthy feeling! I have no clue when or if I will be selected but sending them in was half the battle and totally worthy of checking off the list of Scrappy Resolutions for 2011!

The submission call was for a November issues so I sent them layouts of Fall 2009...sadly the most current fall layouts I have. Here are some pictures of what I submitted!

I will keep you posted to see if I made the mag! Hopes and fingers are high and crossed!

Baseball Season in Full Swing!

Here in my house we are living and loving baseball season! The oldest boy is in his second year of Little League and the youngest had his first T-ball Clinic last night! And most nights we can catch a Giants game on TV. Can't wait to make it to some games this summer!! I thought I would share some of my recent baseball layouts.

I really love the look of stitching on my layouts, especially baseball themed layouts! I used the sewing machine along the outer edge of the page but I didn't trust my skills on this title shape. SO I cheated and used my while gel pen. Super easy and looks the way I was hoping it would!

Oopsie, not the best exposure!

I used the WRMK Sew Easy tool for this technique. It was really easy and gave the baseball seam effect I was looking for. Tip: I did learn that if you pull the tool towards you rather than pushing up the page you have more control of the tool and where the indention are actually landing on your layout.

Here I tested out my new Hero Arts stamps! As you can see I need WAY MORE practice with them! It was fun and a lot easier to do than I thought it would be. It still looks better than my sloppy handwriting! Hehe!

I used the Old West Cricut Cartridge to cut out this title! It was close enough for me! And now my page is complete from layout, title and journaling!

We are ready for next season!!!

Springtime Pleasures

Springtime is not usually my favorite time of the year. Allergies are in full bloom, it is "Spring Forward" with the clocks which equates to losing an hour of sleep and I am not a big fan of bunnies. As a mom of boys all my pastel colored decorations have dirty little fingerprints on them and in our family it is Birthday Season so we are usually on cake OVERLOAD by Easter...ahh these are the joys of spring I really don't enjoy.

There is one thing I have always LOVED about Spring or Easter rather, coloring eggs! I love the whole process of boiling the eggs, laying out the newspaper, preparing the dyes and dipping the eggs! I love selecting which color to dye each egg and how much fun it is to do the two toned eggs! Coloring eggs always means that there will be an egg hunt and deviled eggs to eat!

Last year my Gramma and Uncle shared the egg coloring experience with my boys! It was a lot of fun and a tradition they will remember and love just as much as I still do!

Do you dream of scrapbooking?

I was dreaming of scrapbooking last night!

Last night I was dreaming of scrapbooking... no really I was! Here is the sketch that was in my dream... I guess I am getting excited for our crop on Saturday April 16th!

This is definitely a 30 minute layout and with a few adjustments to some embellishments when turned 90 degrees, you have another fun layout! I've been challenging myself to complete my layouts quicker without losing any of the detail. (Sometimes it takes me 2 hours or more to finish a layout.. and I will never get caught up at that rate!) To complete more I've had to incorporate some time saving tips... and they are working!

TIME SAVING TIP: Try rotating the last layout you completed or one of your favorite layouts 90 or 180 degree for a fun new layout and save some time too!

Randi's April Kit Creation

I am crazy about PINK but in a house full of boys I don't get the opportunity to use it in my scrapbooks all that often. So crazy that we made a kit with pink paper in it I know! When I saw this paper I knew I just had to make it mine! I had fun using it and so glad I could make it work with pix from our New Year's party from last year.

I kept my layout simple and fancied it up with border punches! I am on a big border kick right now!! For the title I used a tag and Thickers. I dressed up the thickers with Stickles to give it that blingy look.

I wanted the focus for this layout to be on my pictures so I kept the embellies to a minimum. The diecut is from the Designer Calendar Cricut cartridge. A little ink and bling and a few buttons and ta-da... my layout is done in 30 minutes!!!

Mandie and paper have an amazing relationship! There isn't a piece of paper that she can't handle!

We absolutely fell in love with Marcie and her truly AMAZING cards! Each month we just drool over how stunning they are! This month with the April Kit we were ooing and ahhing over her card yet again!

See what I mean?!! Simply lovely! I love the felt square, the color combo, the raffia bow with the flower button ...really what's not to love, right?!

What is even more great is that she makes pretty layouts too!

She really gave this layout the full treatment! Stitching, spray ink, layered shapes, buttons and flowers, oh my!!! Can't you just see this in a magazine?? I love the creative layering it Makes you want to keep looking at it and try to figure out what layer is where like a Tetris puzzle! I love it Marcie...keep em' coming!

Taraleigh Gray

Taraleigh's fun and unique style always inspires me! Here is what she created with our April Kit! Oh love it!!! Her large white journaling circles look like they popped right off the green polka dot paper! So clever!!!

This month we challenged our Design Team to use buttons as a design element. She met her challenge to the max! Look at all those buttons!!! I would never think to make a long row of buttons but after seeing this I must try it!!! I absolutely adore all the buttons on this layout! Buttons are a simple embellishment that can make a BIG statement on your layouts and cards!

Speaking of cards...Thank you Taraleigh for this super cute Thank You card! Here is a great way to use up all that fun paper you love! Rather than hoarding those scraps in your stash make a card like Taraleigh did. And yep she added more of those oh-so-cute buttons! Who wouldn't be thankful to get this darling little card!

Playing Catch Up!

Better late than never right?! Here is Amy's creation with the March Kit and it is FABULOUS!!! I love that this layout is super simple and can be easily scraplifted! She used one photo and several large embellishments but I am sure you could squeeze in a few more photos if you wanted!

It's all in the details! Amy really went the distance to give her layout that finished look! I love how she put her burlap and dictionary page on a diagonal to make her picture POP off the busy pattern of the stripe paper. Her accordion fold on the strip of patterned paper is hot right now!!! (This technique can also be duplicated on ribbon too!)

AND... SHE STITCHED!!! Amy used the We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy tool and stitched down the right side of the page...sew cute!!! She also completed the challenge of using floss on her page by finishing off her corrugated flower buttons.

Techniques Used:

Tool: WRMK Sew Easy (It really is as easy as it's name suggests!)
Scraps folded for a unique embellishment (super hot trend right now)
Use of scraps: no pattern paper is larger than 6" x 12"

I went Mini!!!

I was sooo excited to see Taraleigh's mini album she made with the March kit that I decided to make one of my own! Here is the mini I made for my son's preschool end of the year program. I used the Graphically Speaking cartridge to cut the shape of my album.

I had a lot of fun embellishing this mini! I also had fun using the cricut! The tree shape on the cover came from the Simply Charmed cartridge. It was the first time I actually played with the "layering" technique! The birdcage shape was from the Songbird cartridge. I was kinda bummed that it got covered by the picture so I will be sure to use that shape again somewhere else! As you can see I was able to get a lot of use out of my paper and embellishments as well as be able to scrap ALL the fun moments I captured in pictures! Start to finish this project took me about 2 hours...and it took would have been shorter if I could make decisions faster!!!
